Built in South Africa,
for South Africans.
Vula24 is a South African locksmith marketplace. We connect customers with independent, verified locksmiths — currently active in Gauteng and Western Cape.
What Vula24 is
Vula24 is a marketplace platform, not a locksmith company. We do not employ locksmiths. The locksmiths on Vula24 are independent service providers who set their own prices.
Customers book in the Vula24 app. The app matches each request with the nearest verified locksmith who is online and offers that service within 20 km. The customer sees the full price — the locksmith's price plus the Vula24 platform fee — before confirming, tracks the locksmith live, and pays in the app with PayFast.
Before a locksmith can accept jobs, they submit an ID document, a selfie holding their ID and proof of address, and the Vula24 team reviews every application manually. PSIRA registration is not a universal Vula24 requirement.
How this differs from calling a locksmith company
A traditional locksmith company usually sends its own staff. Vula24 has no locksmith shops or branches. Instead, a request in the app goes to independent locksmiths who work in the area, and the locksmith who accepts it does the job. Whether someone is available depends on which locksmiths are online nearby at the time.
What we stand for
Speed
When you are locked out, every minute counts. The app matches you with the nearest verified locksmith who is online, and you can track them live.
Trust
Every locksmith submits ID, a selfie holding their ID and proof of address, and is reviewed before they can accept jobs. Customers rate each job, and you see who is coming before they arrive.
Reliability
The app accepts requests at any hour, every day. Availability depends on which verified locksmiths are online near you — if none are, the app lets you WhatsApp our team.
The name
"Vula" means "open" in Zulu — fitting for a product built around access and opportunity.
The "24" reflects real-world urgency — many lockouts happen outside normal hours, so the Vula24 app accepts requests at any time of day or night.
